Today has been unbelievably hard. Ana is doing well and is getting some much deserved sleep in the postnatal unit.
Barnaby is alive and his outcome is uncertain. The doctor used the word “stable” but only after many hours of interventions. He is breathing on a ventilator and his heart is beating and he is being monitored closely. They warned us that there may be some hard decisions to make in the coming days. There will be an evaluation of brain activity after what he went through and symptoms he is showing. We will meet with the neurologist tomorrow.
Ana has been unbelievably strong throughout and she is wisely focussing her efforts inward on recovery from the emergency surgery that she had and I am focusing my efforts on her. Barnaby has the best doctors doing what they can. He is about 11 hours old at the moment.
